It just could be simpler than you think to shed the pounds without much effort. If you think about it, all you will need to do to lose a pound a month is to cut 100 calories every day. One pound of fat is the same as approximately 3,500 calories. Cutting out 100 calories a day for one month (31 days), means you cut 3,100 calories, which is virtually a pound.
This all assumes that your calories taken in and calories burned remain the same apart from your intake being 100 calories less.
A Small Reduction in Diet Can Help You Lose Weight
The other advantage of reducing your diet slowly is you are more certain to keep the weight off according to fitness and nutrition researchers. On top of that, reducing your diet by 100 calories a day is not going to take any drastic effort or changes on your side. It can truly be quite simple. Actually many ladies who are endeavoring to shed weight after being pregnant will use this method to slowly bring their weight back down.
Take a moment to scribble down what you eat on a typical day. Just make an easy food book of a lot of the foodstuff you eat for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. When you have your list, try and see what items you can swap out for better, lower calorie options. If you are stuck, these are some ideas:
Breads: If you are eating a burger, try eating it without the bun entirely. For sandwiches, swap in a lowcal wrap, or maybe try wrapping your sandwich with a lettuce leaf. For breakfast, ensure you try toast or an English muffin instead of a bagel.
Cheese: Drop the cheese from burgers and sandwiches. You’ll be surprised how much you don’t miss it and it’ll save you the 100 calories almost by itself.
Mayo: Swap in mustard for mayonnaise where you find it possible. You may also use mustard in place of mayo for tuna salad- try it, it is actually quite good.
Butter: Use a low calorie jam on your morning toast instead of butter. When baking foods, you can even replace 1/2 of the butter in stuff like cakes and brownies with equal proportions mashed bananas or applesauce.
Chopping 100 Calories a Day Can Be Quite Simple
Hopefully this has given you some thoughts where you can make small changes in your diet to consume 100 less calories each day. For you it could be easier then swapping foods, possibly you just need to eliminate out that daily soda, or drop that afternoon candy snack. You’ll be staggered by how far junking just 100 calories will help you in the struggle against fat.
